Apply for a passport BOOK – not a card. (all you need is the book)
RENEWAL
- You can have a passport photo made at most CVS, Walgreens, Staples, FedEx Stores, UPS Stores, or a post office that processes passports.
- Complete DS-82 FORM for a Renewal and follow instructions to staple your photo to it.
- The renewal fee for your passport book is $130.
- You can pay $60 for expedited service.
- Please note: you cannot mail your passport docs to the processing center via UPS, FedEx, etc. – you can ONLY send through USPS Priority Mail Express
- You can pay $19.53 for 1-2 day delivery back to you. (this is safer and you will know when it will arrive).
- There is a place on the form to put an upcoming travel date – do this if you have a trip planned!
- Yes, it’s worth the $60 to expedite.

Passport Book RENEWAL Forms and Instructions
FIRST TIME APPLICATION
- Make an appointment at an Acceptance Facility/Processing Center(Post Office) to present documents in person.
- Some Post Office Acceptance Facilities do photos. Call and ask before you make an appointment. They may have VERY limited photo hours. You can do your photo at a CVS, Walgreens, Staples, FedEx Store or UPS Store first.
- Complete your DS-11 FORM online, print and take it with you to the processing center to save time.
- The application fee for your passport book is $130. You are renewing a passport BOOK –not a card.
- The acceptance/execution fee for a 1st time application is $35.
- You can pay $60 for expedited service.
